Our Church
Our Motto
Reaching Upward, Outward, and Inward
- UPWARD: First and foremost, we strive to reach upward to God in all we do. While we want others to enjoy their worship experience at Faith Assembly, it is most important to us that God be pleased with all we do.
- OUTWARD: Secondly, we want to reach outward to our guests, community and world. Reaching outward means that we are relevant with God’s Revelation (the Bible). The way we do that includes everything from servant-based outreach to taking the time to openly share why we do what we do in church each week.
- INWARD: Lastly, we will only be effective in reaching upward and outward if we take the time to also reach inward. This includes presenting opportunities for people to grow in their faith and fellowship.
Our Mission Statement
We are a Bible-centered, full-gospel, contemporary church, committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, training believers to be disciples and exalting God by loving people. Our statement is explained as follows:
- “Bible-centered” - We firmly believe that the Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to humanity. How we serve, worship, and participate in ministry will always be biblically based.
- “Full-gospel” - This phrase indicates that we are Pentecostal in our beliefs. While some may exclude or explain away the New Testament experience of Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 2, 10, and 19), we believe it is valid for the 21st century Christian. We strive to be a Pentecostal church that makes sense.
- “Contemporary church” - This speaks largely of the nature of our worship service. We are contemporary in our music, expressions of worship, and our approach to ministry.
- “Committed to proclaiming . . .” - We believe it is crucial to the health and vitality of every church to keep their emphasis on Jesus Christ. His message was the “good news” and just as He communicated that in a genuine way, so we also accept the responsibility to do the same.
- “Training believers to be disciples” - We should never be satisfied with getting people to respond to Christ once. Jesus commands us to “make disciples” in Matthew 28:19 and that is our end goal. Making disciples is all about making a commitment for life to be like Jesus Christ. It is our desire that each person begin a lifetime commitment of learning and becoming like Him, not just once, but daily.
- “Exalting God by loving people” - It is our pleasure to introduce people to God. We believe it is a high calling to effectively communicate God’s love and passion for people. When we love each other and YOU, we are showing God’s love in real, tangible ways. In that way, He is honored, exalted and esteemed - not us!
